Why is determining the truth so important?  Why do we all become angry when we find out we have been lied to or not told the whole truth?  What are the consequences of believing lies or half truths?

We can be easily manipulated by lies to our detriment.  For example, a doctor refrains from telling a patient of a serious heart condition.  Believing he is OK, he runs a 10K race and dies of a heart attack, leaving his finances in disarray and his family in probate fighting the government over his assets.

There is so much confusion in the world about most everything.  The planet is so laced and crisscrossed today with lies and negative, discordant vibrations that it is near impossible to live in peace. Without truth within, there is no peace. Where there is no peace, there is stress.  Stress is an antonym of peace and the major component in nearly all disease.  Disease leads to death, so it is vital to life that we know, think and act and live in truth.

Lastly and most importantly, without truth there is no trust.  Without trust everyone becomes an island.  Without trust within a family there is only dissension and estrangement.  Without trust in government, there issues forth rebellion and anarchy.  Without trust, the sure result is incoherence, dislocation, disharmony and ultimately death.  Truth and trust are interchangeable.  They are companion virtues, without which, life is not worth the living, nor can it even exist.
